About us.

When we first saw our farm it was at the end of one of the region’s most crippling droughts – and during the bushfire season of 2019. The farmhouse was yet to be renovated – and was totally unliveable. And the farm itself was mostly bare dirt, with empty dams and hardly any grass to be seen.

But the view was something that had us transfixed from the moment we saw it online and then in person. We looked at each other and knew that we could work our way through the thistles and termite-ridden buildings. In a matter of weeks, the farm was ours and our vision for re-generating a little part of Australia began. It was important for us to build something that everyone – from couples to families – could enjoy as well.

OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY.

At Mirumiru, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. From building all-weather roads with integrated water drainage that feeds our dams and restores underground springs, to planting hundreds of native shrubs and trees to combat erosion and restore habitats, we’re focused on leaving our farm better than we found it. Rainwater is carefully collected, filtered, and returned to the earth using a licensed soak-away system, and we provide organic toiletries to protect both your health and the land.

We avoid harsh chemicals in all cleaning and use natural alternatives instead. The grassy mounds around each campsite are part of a long-term regenerative design using hugelkultur methods, turning old tree stumps and soil from roadworks into future mini-forests. We encourage guests to minimise plastic waste, recycle, and choose our catering options to help reduce single-use packaging. It’s all part of creating a stay that’s as gentle on the earth as it is unforgettable.
