Sunday is a beautifully restored Queenslander set on 15 private acres, offering the best views of Mount Mackenzie you’ll find in Tenterfield. Lovingly and fully restored in 2020, Sunday blends character and comfort with soaring ceilings, VJ walls, timber floors and original fretwork – the perfect mix of country charm and modern ease.

A proper farmhouse, with room to spread out

This spacious farm stay accommodation near Tenterfield is ideal for families, couples and groups looking for room to spread out and a private high-country base.

Sunday is a full-sized, character-filled farmhouse with three bedrooms, a comfortable lounge, renovated kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom and reverse-cycle heating and cooling throughout. In the cooler months, the wood-fired heater makes the house especially cosy after a day exploring the New England high country.

Our base rate includes exclusive use of two queen bedrooms for up to four guests. Prefer not to share, or travelling with a larger group? The third bedroom is opened and prepared for bookings of five or more guests, with additional guest charges shown when you book.

Slow down at The Soak

The enclosed decks become sunny retreats in winter and cool, breezy spaces in summer, while the outdoor dining area and firepit are made for long afternoons and slow nights under the stars.

Just outside the back door, The Soak is Sunday’s private outdoor bath house, with a freestanding bathtub positioned to take in views towards Mount Mackenzie. It’s a quiet place to soak after a day on the trails, exploring the national parks or simply doing very little at all.

Coming Soon: The Wash - Made for Riders

Coming soon, The Wash is a dedicated guest facility located in our farm shed, with a shower and toilet, washing machine, dryer and internal drying line, along with secure bike storage.

Designed to make longer stays and mountain biking getaways easier, The Wash gives riders somewhere secure to store bikes and guests the practical facilities to wash, dry and reset between adventures.

Add on wood, kindling and fire starters at check out for your outdoor firepit experience (weather dependent). Please note wood supplies for 1 internal and external fire are provided with our compliments. Guests are expected to supply additional firewood themselves.

FAQs

  • Are there Special Rates for Longer Stays?

    Yes - when you book direct we provide discounts for stays for longer than 2 nights. Contact us for your booking code.

  • What time is check in and check out?

    Self-check in is strictly from 3PM – 8PM and check out is 10am. Late check out can be organised well in advance if we don’t have guests checking in that same day and for a small cost.

  • Do you have WIFI?

    Yes – we have free high speed Starlink satellite internet that is available for your stay. The password is in our guest book and is case sensitive. Please do not ever turn off the WIFI router.

  • What food do I need to bring?

    We provide the kitchen basics including oil, salt, pepper, tea, herbal tea and coffee. A range of breakfast cereals are also available. However, this is a self-catering stay. We can help recommend cafes and restaurants to cater for the everyday or the special occasion (bookings are essential). We rely on off-grid water so please use water sparingly and this is monitored so you don’t run out of water.

  • What can be accessed during our stay?

    Our farmhouse, Sunday, onsite parking on the driveway and exclusive use of the farm around the house. Note the farm shed and Bubbletents & Tiny Bubble Tent are not included in this stay.

  • Can I smoke?

    No - the entire farm is non-smoking and non-vaping.

  • Are pets welcome?

    No - we are no longer accepting pets. We of course will always accept service animals.

  • Why are there Security Cameras?

    Here at Sunday, we operate a CCTV camera network to monitor our house, farm shed, and the surrounding farmland. These cameras are in place for critical reasons: they help us detect smoke and fire hazards as part of our NSW Rural Fire Service licensing requirements, monitor driveway access, and ensure the safety and security of our property and guests. As a farm-based business in a bushfire-prone region, these measures are non-negotiable and essential. This is an owner's decision on how we protect our home and livelihood—these systems are in place to meet both regulatory obligations and practical realities of managing a rural property responsibly. We have a zero-tolerance policy for abuse because these cameras are in place.

  • EV Recharging?

    4 CCS-compatible Tesla Chargers are available in the Coles car park. 162 Rouse Street, Tenterfield.

    These are available 24/7. There are no EV charging facilities at Mirumiru.

  • Can we have visitors and extra guests stay?

    Please contact us in every instance to discuss this in advance. Extra guests beyond our base rate will always incur a fee.
